My Wife: A Poem
My Wife: A Poem
There may be a few of you that may not remember me, I am SGT Wesley Cox. I am a mechanic in the Army and recently discovered through Hubpages that poetry was in my abilities. I often wonder if people are honest with me when they say, "Good Poem." I guess that is just my insecurities acting up. Really I wanted to put this piece in here because the ad that pops up ruined the natural flow of the poem so hopefully this little piece of whatever will fix that.
Someone once said
"All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream."
My wife, she's my girl
She's important, my whole world
the love she gives is such a joy
I'm like a child again with a favorite toy
Her love is oh so grand
I am honored to be her man.
She started as the girl I fell in love with
and became the woman I now cherish.
Down the road of a never ending rhyme
I'd be happy spending all my time
watching grass grow or paint dry
so long as she is by my side.
My job always takes me away
but I yearn for the day that I get to stay
Although we're miles apart
you reside so near to my heart.
Long ago this love we had found
I told you, "Soulmates we are" forever bound
Your lips, so succulent - so sweet
to gently kiss them I am silently entreating
A love so strong there is no retreating
Flutter of wings my heart is beating
from the smile you give upon meeting
This love will never be fleeting.
To be with you is all I need
joined far above by a force unseen
As I hold you secure in my arms
I become enchanted by your charms
Like the moon pulls the oceans to shore
to you I am pulled for evermore.
Of my heart, the chambers four
you, my love, own the very core
For you I so adore, adore our pure amour
Our love has never been a chore and from the rooftops I roar
"A love to end nevermore", nevermore will I close the door
On what it is I so adore, our love will last for evermore.
The End.
